About

Gayatri Rambhatla

Gayatri Rambhatla is a painter and mother based in Hoppers Crossing, Victoria. Her work returns again and again to childhood: children climbing trees, riding towards the sea, dancing through sprinklers, and the animals who keep them company.

She paints in oils and acrylics with loose, layered brushwork, letting warm sunset tones sit against blues and violets. Her landscapes often echo the places of her own early years, and carry the same sense of familiarity and comfort.

More recently she has begun working in watercolour as well. She welcomes commissions, and is happy to talk about a painting of your own family, pet or place.
